A video work on the theme of light and shadow. Elusive light and shadow, visible to the eye but untouchable. I have been fascinated by their abstract existence many times, and I wanted to create a work based on them. Light illuminates all things, but at the same time, shadows appear.I felt fear and weakness from this, and created a sound that hid a fragility like armor. Light and shadow, yin and yang, life and death, morning and night, white and black. Concepts such as "ambivalence" and "duality" are born from the combination of these elements. A new system or sense of values is created by the coexistence of opposites, and even more so, by crossing them. This is where I superimposed my own taste, style, and attitude toward my creative activities.The title of the work, "Chant," means "psalm," or "repetition of the same thing," and the repetition of voices and short phrases, as if sung in a church, is derived from this title. Because of the heavy subject matter, I wanted to take a dance music approach to the sound in order to make it accessible to the listener.

The sound was composed of synthesizer tones. In the video, the movement of light is represented by spotlights and their colors are inverted. By making the light look like a shadow, it expresses that yin and yang, light and shadow are always two sides of the same coin.
